Due to the wide variety of SUVs, Mazda has a wide selection of engines. The base engine is the same 2.5-litre naturally aspirated unit seen in the CX-30, although it produces 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque in this application. The CX-5’s most potent engine is the 2.5-litre turbo-four, which offers 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of performance. If you use 93-octane fuel, the horsepower rises to 256.
